It Looks Like Toyota Is Resurrecting The MR2 As Well As The Supra
From an enthusiast’s perspective, Toyota’s future is looking jolly exciting. We’ve already been enjoying the GT86 for the last few years, a hot Yaris is on the way, the Supra is being resurrected, and now, we’ve learned that the MR2 is set for its own automotive Lazarus moment.
Speaking to Evo at the Geneva Motor Show, Tetsuya Tada - Gazoo Racing’s boss - said that Toyota’s sports car line-up will consist of “The Three Brothers”. By that, he means the GT86, the Supra, and - the motoring world is assuming - a new MR2. We may not have to wait that long either, with Tada-san insisting Toyota wants the new trio in production “as soon as possible”.
Beyond that, everything else is speculation. A lightweight, fast, mid-engined sports car would slot between the GT86 and Supra quite nicely, but Toyota may go a different route - we’ll have to wait and see.
The third and final generation ‘W30’ MR2 was a mid-engined roadster, which went out of production in 2007, one year after the seventh and final generation Celica was killed off.

THE 90’s ARE BACK!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!
Finally!
I bet the car that has been driving around that’s supposed to be a twin to the new bmw Z5 is actually the Mr2 and Toyota has been secretly working on the Supra.
I am not sure that “The Three Brothers” means mr2 will come. Yaris filled the gap of fwd Celica and GT86 did for MR2 (for rwd). The last piece is Supra succersor and he might mean new Supra.
This further supports my theory that half of Toyota is juvenile teenagers and the other half is elderly men,
aka hybrid supra
Considering 86 for high speed cornering tourring mr2 for low speed tight downhill touge and supra for high speed tracking might buy all three
Imagine a mr2 with a na 2.5l v6 and styling close to the 2nd gen
Most likely the car is going to come with some BS hybrid system and no manuel like the new supra
