A Jacked-Up Ride Height Was All The Beetle Needed To Be Cool
This curious concept from VW has made its debut at the Detroit Auto Show
There's something about the modern, Golf-based VW Beetle that's just embarrassing. Happily, VW could be doing something about that, if this Beetle Dune concept is anything to go by.
The company teased us with the idea of a car like this before with a concept in 2000. This one has a 50mm suspension lift, and a set of 19-inch wheels with chunky tyres added.
Powering the front wheels is a 2.0-litre, 207bhp four-pot taken from the current Beetle, mated to a six-speed DCT gearbox.
