The Koenigsegg One:1 Might Be About To Steal The Nurburgring Lap Record
Last year, it was looking like Koenigsegg was about to set a blistering time at the Nurburgring with the One:1. Christian von Koenigsegg had even talked confidently about shaving ‘double digits’ off the time set by the Porsche 918 Spyder - a machine that’s still the fastest street legal car to lap the Nordschleife, barring a couple of laps set by Radicals which many ignore since they’re pretty much racing cars.
Unfortunately, the effort had to be canned due to the circuit’s management bringing in speed restrictions on certain parts of the track. However, those restrictions were lifted earlier this year, and since the 1322bhp One:1 has been spied blasting around the Nurburgring this week, it looks like the record attempt is back on.

Can we get a car as fast as a koenigsegg (OMG I CAN SPELL IT) with the strength of a volvo and the reliability of a toyota?

Renaults have probably been the most solid cars for the last 2 decades.
Toyota have about 5 recalls a year. It makes Vauxhall look like bloody Audi!
I think the current fastest lap is a 6:30 set by the Zonda Revolucion very recently. The fastest ever was set by the Porsche 956. It did it in 6:11… I think the One:1 might beat that.
But I love the Zonda and what it to stay at the top :p
The Zonda was a pure racecar and the Koenigsegg wont be near the 6:11. That 956 was also a pure racecar with slicks, over 1000hp and also lighter than a One:1
Fastest is still ‘officially’ the 918 - the Zonda story turned out to be nonsense if I recall
And I am sitting here wondering how fast can an F1 car take the ‘ring. Definitely sub 6 minutes, but it will be extremely hard with all the bumpyness of the track. I even remember there was a YT video of a guy doing sub 5 minutes on GT5.
It’s worth saying that they said they didn’t actually go there to try to break a lap record this time, that will come later
Lets hope the Koeniggggsenisseggsegnignigsegigisegone:1 gets that lap record.

I sat in one of those in my trip to Sweden not so long ago. My favorate car by miles. Never thought such perfection would be achieved. (A bit to loud for my taste but the car makes up for it)
Let’s just hope the test driver doesn’t mess up like the Camaro test driver… He got like 3x the power soooo
