Lister Is Planning A 7.8-Litre V12-Engined Hypercar Called 'Storm II'

Lister is planning to revive the old Storm name it used in the 1990s for a brand new 250mph hypercar. The Storm II will launch to 62mph in under 3.0 seconds and almost be fighting with the Bugatti Chiron for top speed bragging rights… or at least it will if it actually happens.
Company owner Lawrence Whittaker has tweeted this picture of the Storm II concept close to a Lister Knobbly sports car, highlighting the brand’s heritage. More recently, as well as the Knobbly road car, Lister has produced a 666bhp Jaguar F-Type – with a 666bhp F-Pace SUV to follow.
One of 4 Lister Storm road cars. We are proud that this was the fastest 4 seater car in the world for ten consecutive years! #listerstorm pic.twitter.com/77RptrGEY7

Whittaker reportedly wants to build a company that works in a similar way to Pagani and Koenigsegg, producing very small numbers of hyper-exclusive hypercars. The Storm II would be the first serious step on that road.
Reports suggest a 7.8-litre Jaguar-derived V12 could provide the power, although exactly how this engine would come about is so far unknown outside the company.
The original Storm was a true small-scale oddball, looking like a weird kit car and powered by a bonkers 7.0-litre Jaguar V12. It was, Lister claims, the fastest four-seater in the world for 10 years.

Long live to those MASSIVE DIPLACEMENTS
Hmmmmmm…
Please make it an N/A hybrid, please make it an N/A hybrid
This is reassuring!
#noreplacementfordisplacement
The battle of the small hypercar makers: Pagani vs Koenigsegg vs Zenvo vs Lister. A 7.8L V12 is something only the Viper and the Zonda had in terms of massive displacement. Should be an epic battle!😃 Also throw in Phil for a comedic effect. 😅
Looks like the Lamborghini Terzo Millenio
If they asked my advice, I would only suggest one thing: DO NOT try to make “the fastest, the most powerful, etc” car in the world. If you try to do so, you will be compared to the likes of Bugatti who are backed up by multi-billion corporations and will a) either outperform the start-up car b) be more reliable, higher quality, better looking etc
Instead do what TVR are currently doing: focus on making an interesting car with character. Something that large corporations such as VW may struggle with. Maybe a naturally-aspirated engine (since emissions regulations are not as strict for small companies - why not exploit this advantage?), manual gearbox, light weight and unique design. And also focus on actually making the car: ensuring the production line is in place and suppliers know what they are doing, to make sure that once the car is released, the deliveries can start before people lose interest.
Focusing on making the car interesting and investing into the production facilities will help much more than stupidly claiming to create the most powerful car and then failing miserably once the big boys punch back.
NOO I DONT WANT A 250MPH HYPERCAR!
now before you kill me, let me explain.
Why can’t car companies come out with a small inexpensive ish electric sports car that could take on the likes of the MX-5 or even the boxster!
How hard can it be? It’ll probably be cheaper to make than these HYPERCARS and it’ll be environmently friendly and it’ll actually be fresh and new and would actually have proper customers!
But hey V12
Cool
The original Storm was such an awesome car, I really hope Lister makes a comback with this car!
