Mazda Will Offer Its New MX-5 With An LSD And Better Suspension

This is the new, fourth-generation Mazda MX-5. It’s super-small, very light and, according to early driving reports, the closest thing we’ve had to the iconic Mk1 MX-5 since that car went off sale.

Even before the new car has hit showrooms, we’ve been given great news in the shape of this, the new MX-5 Club Edition. So what’s special? Well, for starters there’s a limited-slip differential fitted, which will ensure that the roadster’s rear-end gets a booty workout when desired by its driver. Bilstein shock absorbers also feature, as does a strut brace under the bonnet. Both will stiffen the MX-5’s ride up nicely, giving the car more lively ride and handling. Drifting should also be easier, of course…

Alongside the shiny new bits underneath, the Club also comes with 17-inch Gunmetal Grey alloys and subtle spoilers front and back. The full club pack comes fitted to cars with the six-speed manual ‘box only. If you’re wanting these trinkets on an auto, you’ll be disappointed; no diff, shocks or strut brace come with that.

If you’re keen to make your new MX-5 really sing, then you can also upgrade the Club car with 17-inch BBS alloys, Brembo front brakes and a more aggressive aero kit.

It looks like there’s little more to say than: “shut up and take my money!”
