Mercedes-AMG Project One Will Reportedly Have 1006bhp To Play With
As time goes on we’re getting a much clearer picture of what the Mercedes-AMG Project One hypercar will be like. We know it’ll have an F1-derived, 1.6-litre V6 hybrid powertrain, and we know its price tag will be comfortably in seven figure territory.
Mercedes itself has previously said the hybrid system will produce “more than 1000hp [987bhp]” combined, but now we know exactly how much more. 20hp - according to a report in Automobile Magazine - bringing the total to 1020hp, or 1006bhp.
So the answer is not much more, but hey, that’s still a monstrous output. And given that - despite all the bulky hybrid gubbins it’ll be carrying - it’s reported to weigh only 1300kg or so, it should be monstrously fast.
The car will make its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show this September.

A SEW FAUNSEH METALLIC MUSTACHE!
mother of god..
after reading that, I can see someone going down the street with this ‘stache now…
1.3k kg with 1000+ HP?! My god. I’m out of words.
Koenigsegg did 1360kg with 1360hp. And Caparo did 470kg with 575hp :D.
Take out loads of stuff in there, get it way under 1000kg. Then turn off any driving and grip aids. 1006bhp or 1020hp. Soon, you will be halfway up a tree.
They should power a Smart with one of those drivetrains
The drivetrain is likely to be longer than the footprint of the small car itself
Sleeper drag car anybody?
If McLaren are desperate for something better than Honda they should sign a good deal with Mercedes in September and use 2 of these for the rest of the season
Nah
A Mercedes that is actually light? Wow the world is gonna end
SLS/AMG GT….

pretty sure it’s Mercedes- Ach Mein Gott
Also seen that the engine is expected to need an overhaul every 30k….. so that means a rotary is more reliable :-P
