The Monster 1200R Is The Most Powerful Naked Ducati Ever
As you’ve no doubt gathered from the bevy of exciting new cars we’ve seen revealed this week, there’s a rather important motor show running: Frankfurt. It’s mostly about cars, of course, but there’s usually a tasty bike or two to drool over. This year the one that caught our eye was the Ducati Monster 1200R, exhibited on the stand of parent company Audi.
The 1198cc ‘Testastretta’ V-twin it’s packing is good for 160bhp at 9250rpm and 97lb ft at 7750, which Ducati say makes this the most powerful naked bike the company has ever made. The forks and rear shock are both provided by Ohlins, while the job of bringing everything to a stop is given to a pair of 330mm discs at the front with Brembo four-pot callipers, and a single 245mm disc at the rear with a two-piston stopper. ABS comes as standard.
Don’t want one in Ducati Red? Worry not, as it’s also available in ‘Thrilling Black’.
It’ll go on sale early 2016.
