There’s nothing like an original, and the Mustang in my book is Ford’s first true sports car. Imitation is the greatest form of flattery, and such is the case with the Camaro imitating the Mustang.

TWO The Mustang has never stopped production.
In 2002 the Camaro stopped production “due to slowing sales, a deteriorating market for sports coupés,” The Mustang has had a model for every year since 1965, even when there was the debacle of the Mustang II. It seems as if the Mustang will never give up.

Who knew that a chicken farmer from Texas could have such a big impact on America’s sports car? He was a great racing driver, helped breathe some fire into the AC Cobra and the Ford Mustang and his name continues to adorne Mustangs throughout the world.

FOUR The Mustang has had better sales figures and it has a bigger fanbase.
By looking at the numbers, it’s obvious that the Mustang is more popular among fanboys and buyers alike. Not to mention that the Mustang has a better reputation internationally, it’s being sold in Europe as we speak. There’s strength in numbers.

FIVE The Mustang is lighter most of the time.
Looking at the numbers, the Mustang is more of a lightweight than it’s Camaro nemesis. The Foxbody Mustang is a good example of that, being a good platform for a drag car. In the sports car world, the lighter the better, which means that in a way the Mustang is better.

There you have it, reasons the Mustang betters the camaro. Both the camaro and the mustang are cars i want in my garage.

Why you guys stay fighting to see if Mustang or Camaro is better, we all know that Dodge beats both

If only they could shave a few tons of the luxury cruiser that is known as the Challenger would it be competitive. I love the Hemi, and almost everything that sports it, but Dodge really has to redesign the Challenger, it’s due for an update.

By this logic the mustang is better than a veyron too

I will not hear that a car that was almost called the Stiletto is better than a car that normally had a twin brother also selling under a different name (Camaro/Firebird), as well as competing with the Corvette in the power V8 market.

And the Mustang had the Cougar originally.

well… this z/28 returned with 620 horses, and not even the 911 gt3 cup cars can keep up with it :)

if i had a choice between the two as a european who has never seen either until the new 2016 mustang was released here in the uk, i would hands down pick a camaro. however the mustang is a icon and when someone says muscle car my first thought is always mustang.

the camaro to me looks so much more aggressive than the mustang through most of the generations.

would be interesting for you to do a post from the other side now, showing good points of the camaro against the mustang.
