This Is The New Subaru Impreza

Here it is, the next generation of Subaru Impreza. Details are still rather scarce (the full reveal will happen later today), but we do know it’ll be powered by a range of four-cylinder boxer engines, and a five-door hatchback version will be available in addition to the saloon you see here. It’ll be the hatchback that we receive in the UK (although it’s only “under consideration” at the moment), as the saloon won’t be coming to Europe.

This Is The New Subaru Impreza

It’s all underpinned by Subaru’s new Global Platform architecture, which will eventually be used on every car in the company’s range and makes this Impreza 70 per cent stiffer than the old one. The new car is - of course - all-wheel drive, and a hot WRX STI will join the ranks at some stage.

I feel like this should be called a legacy.

Impreza’s and wrx’s have really been toned down over the years into lifeless blobs. I like the old ones better.

Looks pretty good for an normal car! I’m curious to how the WRX and/or STI turns out. I’m just hoping they do something new with the engine and interior. Even though I’m a big Subie fan, they’re quite a bit behind the competition.

This is utterly horrendous still! It looks almost as the same as the newest generation and it still looks ugly! Give us something like the “hawkeye” and we will pleased
