Porsche Reveals Panamera Interior

Porsche's controversial addition to their lineup, the 4-door Panamera, has been widely criticized for it's... ungainly styling.  Porsche has released a bunch more press photos of the Panamera today, including shots of the interior.  At least now we know the interior will be a bit more inviting looking than the outside!

The center stack sweeps out and downward in supercar fashion, with a hint of Carrera GT to it's design.  This arrangement places all controls within easy reach of the driver, while providing an intimate feel to the interior.  The materials looks quite rich, too, as you'd expect.

The center console controls do sorta look like the face of a cell phone; I suppose that's the design aesthetic companies are going for these days.  Mitsubishi actually said the doorhandles inside the new Eclipse were inspired by cell phone design.  This is just another continuation.

Of course, the Panamera will feature a giant LCD screen for integrated navigation, stereo, HVAC, and other controls.  Surprisingly enough, the rear seats actually look usable, a first for a real Porsche.  (If you're reading this, I'd wager you're aware the Cayenne doesn't count.)

Ugh.  If only they could do something about the outside looking so awful.  The Panamera will be for sale in Europe in September of this year, in Panamera S (4.8L) and Panamera Turbo (4.8L twin-turbo) forms.  Pricing for the naturally-aspirated Panamera S starts at €102,251 in Germany, and when it goes on sale in the US in October it will drain your wallet to the tune of $89,900.  That's a whole lot of money for an ugly car, but you know people are going to buy them.
