Power Boosts And Special Options Define New Aston Martin Vantage AMR Twins
Aston Martin has revealed the first two cars in its upgraded AMR range, based on the V8 and V12 Vantage. Go on, admit it: you quite like the lime green stripes.
The pair represent road-biased but higher-performance versions of the popular sports car siblings, with special materials, colours and even a range of dedicated accessories, because matching luggage, helmets and action cameras are apparently what Aston Martin buyers want. Obviously.
Inspired by the success of the GTE racer that enjoyed so much success in last year’s World Endurance Championship, the V8 Vantage gets a 10bhp shunt up to 430bhp, while its V12 big brother gets even more: the standard 565bhp rises to 595bhp (or 580bhp outside Europe).
Both can be had with manual gearboxes. The V8 gets six ratios and the V12 a hearty seven. If you prefer, there’s a sequential manual with paddle-shifters. If performance is your bag, there’s an additional aero kit with a front splitter and dive planes, side sills and a fixed rear spoiler, all made from carbonfibre. Add the AMR titanium exhaust to the V12 and you’ll save 14kg as well as making it sound even better and sharpening throttle response, says the company.
There’s a range of exterior colour options, but each of them is twinned with its own distinct interior design scheme. Go for the green-striped Stirling Green body and you’ll get lime green accents inside, too. The V8’s five-spoke alloys and the V12’s 10-spokes both have a choice of three finishes.
Neither will be available in the States, and only the V12 will make it to the Middle East. As for price, Aston has, for some reason, only confirmed the V8’s entry point. Some £97,995 buys you the V8 Vantage AMR. We’re trying to get hold of the V12’s price as well. And will update this story when we can.

When you wait for an official power upgrade for the BRZ/GT86
I’Ve been waiting too :(
I wonder which one has the bigger adVANTAGE.
I think the v12 one, AMR 8?
This is me
Can’t wait to see Astons ‘GT’ division in action. Hope we get a version similar to the Porsche GT3 and GT3RS with the next Vantage.
AMR?
More like ASMR cause they sound orgasmic
I’m hoping for Aston to create the DBR11!
Imagine that with an 800bhp V12…hnnnng
Maybe they should call it the 2-One-77 xD
It’s messes up to think that the Vantage is already 14 years old…I think I mighy be getting a bit of an existential crisis. (If we put this into context 14 years before the Vantage, the F40 was still in production).
As long as we will finally be able to buy an Aston Martin with off-the-shelf handling and lap times to match Ferrari/Mclaren/Lamborghini, then I will be happy
