Rejoice, For You Can Now Tune Your McLaren 720S to 800hp

Thank the stars! Now you can give your boring, standard and frankly pedestrian McLaren 720S the extra power it so desperately needs...

Does your McLaren 720S feel a little… feeble? Do you get out-dragged by everyone you meet at the traffic lights? Are small children laughing at your puny 710bhp (or maybe a lot more)? Then the tuners at Wheelsandmore have got some good news for you.

The German tuner reckons a factory warranty is overrated, and offers two power-boosting options to cut your times at your neighbourhood drag strip. The Stage 1 upgrade adds 49bhp and 59lb ft, while the meatier Stage 2 product bumps things by 79bhp and 81lb ft, to 789bhp and 649lb ft.

While Wheelsandmore’s decision not to publish performance figures inevitably leaves us questioning how much testing has actually been done, you can bet you’ll set your new personal best down at Santa Pod. Other drag-racing facilities are available.

The company will also sell you adjustable lowering springs that will let you slam your 720S to your heart’s content, or raise it back up again because, y’know, you actually want to drive it. Lastly, you can add body-coloured wheels, if you’ve just looked up from an early edition of Max Power and like that sort of thing.

There are smaller wheels for actual use, and larger ones that suit some tastes but effectively ruin the driving experience for people who don’t just stick to cruising down smooth, pristine boulevards. Naturally, exhausts are available too, if you have to go the whole hog.

WHAT ARE THOOOOOOOOSEEE?! (I know they have some function, but they are a little odd looking on a sleek supercar)

The 720s was found to be making roughly 700whp, 700x1.15=805 crank hp soooo what’s this actually doing?

15 percent drivetrain loss is a too much for a supercar, especially a very new, high tech and efficient one.

They should invest in air suspensions, that’ll probably do the trick
