Sebastian Vettel's Indian Grand Prix victory yesterday also saw him take the 2013 Championship title - his fourth in as many years. Red Bull Racing also took the constructor's crown despite Mark Webber retiring from the 60-lap race.

Yesterday's error-free race for the badass German was Vettel's 10th win of the 2013 season and his sixth win in a row. Rosberg finished the race in second place after a strong final stint, picking off front-runners who struggled with tyres.

Despite Romain Grosjean's disastrous qualifying session, which meant the Frenchman started from 17th on the grid, his incredible final stint and one-stop strategy saw him climb through the ranks to a deserved third, also his third consecutive podium finish.

Massa crossed the line in fourth and took Ferrari's only points, while Alonso's luck was out from the very start. The Spaniard hit Webber and damaged his nosecone before tagging Jenson Button a few corners later. After starting on the more durable medium compound, his first stint was cut short by pitting for damage repairs. Alonso finished the race in a woeful 11th place, his first finish outside of the top 10 since the British Grand Prix in 2010.

Sergio Perez made some impressive moves during the race to finish in fifth - his best result of the season. The McLaren driver finished eight seconds clear of the man he replaced, Lewis Hamilton, who lost time behind Massa in the middle stint.

Raikkonen had to pit with two laps remaining and fell to seventh place. He was in second place but couldn't make a one-stop strategy work - unlike his less experienced team-mate - and eventually dropped down the field. Paul di Resta and Adrian Sutil scored Force India's first double points score since the British Grand Prix.

Daniel Ricciardo denied Alonso the last remaining point to complete the top 10. Button could only recover from the race start's contact with Alonso to finish in 14th.

Nico Hulkenberg's strong run of points finishes came to an end after retiring from the race with six laps to go. Webber was on course to finish in second but alternator failure saw him out for the count. Caterham suffered a double car retirement during the race, the first of which was at turn one after Giedo van der Garde broke his suspension after contact with Max Chilton.

Vettel celebrated his world title in style with £21,000 donuts on the pit straight. He now moves into the exclusive four-plus club with Michael Schumacher, Alain Prost and Juan Manuel Fangio.

Now F1 heads swiftly off to the Yas Marina circuit for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
