Should Our BMW M2 Longtermer Be A Manual, Or An Automatic?
This September, a BMW M2 will be joining TeamCT's long-term test fleet. But what kind of gearbox should it have? We want you to help us decide!
Recently, we enjoyed a very entertaining week with a BMW M2, which saw us bomb down the autobahn to the Nurburgring N24 and go for a lap of the Nordschleife. Since we’re greedy, we still wanted more time with the M2, and fortunately, we’ve been granted our wish: this September a BMW M2 will be joining Car Throttle’s long-term test fleet, alongside ‘our’ Honda Civic Type R and another awesome car which is set to arrive in the coming weeks.
Whatever happens the M2 will be a Long Beach Blue example, but we have been given a choice of transmissions: the six-speed manual, or the seven-speed dual-clutch. To help us make our decision, we want to know what kind of M2 you’d rather see. Get voting!

Every damn time it needs to be a manual, almost every car you have as a longtermer, so please, get an auto this time
Well out of the last five two have been auto, so that’s not quite true!
All of the community will demand a Manual, I don’t say that it’s bad, but 90% of them are completely biased. So how are they going to help?
Im voting Auto
If you want to get fun Manual, if you want to get fast Auto.
I prefer Manual.
Even before clicking on this post i was thinking of manual and i was going to comment manual but EVERYONE has reviewed the manual one, you should get the AUTO
Tiptronic master race. Go auto/manual as you wish.
Choose whatever you feel is best
Everyone likes having a knob.
Manual, done.
I think a manual. It’s just the perfect gearbox for the car. The M2 is sort of a small sportscar and that sort of car just needs a manual gearbox to play with.
