can i ask why is it so hard to press the handbrake??
Do you mean “press the button of the handbrake” or “pull the handbrake”? If you mean “pull the handbrake”, it’s because there are springs or other mechanisms that contrast you pulling it. If you mean “press the button”, you can easily release the handbrake by pulling it a little bit more (without clicking) before pressing the button
Pull up slightly and then press the button. Otherwise you’re trying to pry the pawl out from the teeth when it’s locked in place.
If it wears out in your car you got the wrong car + clickety sound is satisfying. And you can do even worse wear if your handbrake start to go down before u release a button (and that’s is quite possible to do when you are in hurry)
Alex is going to be butthurt after this vid.
Alex will be fine haha. In his video he states “it’s like going in with no lube” when you don’t press it. That’s a fairly accurate statement, considering there’s no contact if you do indeed press the button.
My butt hurts so bad right now, sitting down is not an option!
When my car got its new brake shoes, the handbrake is hard to pull high but after month or so, it started to soften up, still hold a decent grip but not as efficient as the newly changed shoes. I wonder why..
A month seems like it’s too short of a time but it might just be the wear of the brake shoes. As they wear you need to adjust them to bring them back closer to the drum.
yolo
Thank you for busting this stupid myth. I had the same idea about how it works and everybody went in rage when I pulled the handbrake without pushing the button!
At least call it annoying.
Totally with you!
Shots fired at Alex?! 😂 I still would push the button, that sound is horrific.
Socket wrenches make the same sound haha.
Jason and I are now getting a divorce…
Hello everyone and welcome!
I can’t stop hearing it with Alex’s voice, after the video when he jokes about it.
But atomic kitten made a song called push the button. No you say it’s unnecessary. I’m confused now… what to do, what to do.
