Subaru's Boring New Legacy Is Nothing Like The Sexy Concept
When Subaru unveiled a sleek concept to preview the next-gen Legacy for the LA motor show last year, we really hoped the Japanese carmaker would grow a pair and make it a reality. Unfortunately, the production version of the 2015 Legacy has now been leaked, and it's offensively bland.
Gone is that sleek coupe look with the hidden door handles, while the concept's gorgeously slender headlamps have been replaced with a set of bog standard-looking units that have the aesthetic appeal of a cardboard box.
And just look at those door mirrors: they look like they've been borrowed from the 1980s. We know manufacturers have to tone down these concepts before production, but with all the aggression and subtle detailing of the concept version gone in this production Legacy, we can't help but feel a little deflated.
As this is just a leak, there are no details on specs, but you can expect the usual complement of boxer diesel and petrol engines. It won't be coming to the UK - not that we're shedding any tears over that - instead we could be seeing a production version of the Levorg sports tourer concept.
