This Supercar-Heavy Jackie Chan Film Doesn't Give A Damn About The Laws Of Physics

Bollywood-inspired 'Kung Fu Yoga' features an impressive array of exotics, but cares little for the laws of physics, good CGI, and how cars handle in real life...

Kung Fu Yoga - a film brought to our attention by the fine folk over at Jalopnik - features enough exotic cars to rival an instalment from the Fast and Furious franchise. We’re talking a McLaren 650S, Lamborghini Aventador, Ford GT, Bugatti Veyron and even (for some reason) a Devel Sixteen.

The problem? It makes a Fast and Furious effort seem ultra-realistic. The film - released in some territories later this month - is a Chinese-Indian co-production, and seems to be inspired by Bollywood action films. As such, it’s hilariously unrealistic and over-the-top.

Suddenly, a wild Devel Sixteen appears...
Suddenly, a wild Devel Sixteen appears...

The laws of physics and good special effects are very much absent from this trailer, and for good measure, the V8-powered 650S sounds like it’s powered by the Aventador’s V12. Because of course it does.

If anything though, all this just makes me want to watch the film more…

As an Indian, I approve this. In our movies, laws of physics and realism go straight out the window.

Kung Fu comes from China.
Yoga comes from India.
The movie is a Chinese-Indian production.

Coincidence? I think not.

The handling of the cars in the movie is like one of those poorly made, free mobile car games.

The 650S sounded like it had an Aventador V12 swap. That’s breaking quite the stereotypes. 😂
