There’s Finally A Release Window For Gran Turismo Sport

It’s been quite a while since Gran Turismo Sport was officially launched, and some time since the release date was postponed from November 2016 to an unspecified 2017 date.

Well, we still don’t have an actual release day locked in, but at E3 a release window of autumn 2017 has now been confirmed. Which is something, at least.

E3 also brought two new trailers featuring gameplay footage, which – we have to admit – does look absolutely stunning. We’re still pretty hyped for the game.

One of the trailers reveals the new theme music for the next instalment of the massive racing game franchise, which is a nice little detail.

Polyphony Digital does say details on the actual release date for GT Sport “are planned to be announced soon”, which we hope is encouraging, but we have to admit it might actually mean nothing.

The E3 trailers showcased some cars we haven’t really seen in previous GT Sport media, such as the Honda NSX, Lamborghini Huracan, Volkswagen Beetle (oh joy) and Dodge Viper.

GT Sport promises improved graphics, physics and sounds, plus new FIA online championships, tracks such as “Tokyo Expressway” and lots of cars – including Porsches for the first time ever in a Gran Turismo game.

It’s a crime against humanity that GT Sport and FM7 cannot be played on the same console

I don’t know about you guys but I just saw the words “new” and “Gran Turismo Sport” in the same sentence before the picture loaded and I got extremely excited thinking a new Maserati GTS had come out.

Wait autumn of 2017 so it’s like during the November month?

The Autumn release date was announced at E3, which is an American exhibition to showcase electronics and stuff (mostly games, consoles, etc). As E3 is based in the US, you’d expect everything which is announced at E3 to be targeted at the US market. The US is located in the northern hemisphere meaning it’s Autumn is September to December. So yeah, like November…
