There’s Yet Another Final Pagani Zonda

You’ve read this several times by now, but here we go again. 25 years on from the very original, Pagani is once again making another Zonda, and again, this will be the last newly-built one. Apparently. As they say, there’s nothing quite like your first…

This is the Zonda Arrivederci, the Italian for ‘goodbye’ or probably more aptly in the case of a Pagani, ‘until we meet again’.

Unusually, the reveal doesn’t come from Pagani itself but rather UK-based Modena Design, which has been responsible for rendering the commission from an unnamed, very lucky buyer. Details on the build are, as such, pretty scarce, but we do know it’s said to cost ‘within the range of eight figures’. Blimey.

It’s a bit of a Zonda greatest hits, with the rear lights inspired by the Zonda R, air ducts by the C12 and canards by the 760. Oh, and the front end is largely reminiscent of the Barchetta – a handy link, as it’s believed the Arrivederci will use that car’s spec of 7.3-litre AMG V12 producing 778bhp. That'll be sent through a six-speed manual gearbox.

There’s another subtle Zonda tribute feature inside the car with the steering wheel derived from the F. However, it’s not just other Zondas it’s taken inspiration from, either. See those six-spoke wheels? Those have been styled after the Huayra BC – albeit riveted in the style of the C12.

Surely, then, it’d have a livery giving a nod to something else in the Pagani stable. The Cinque, perhaps? Er, no, instead it’s been inspired by classic Martini racing colours. We’re not sure of the relevance, but it sure looks cool.

We’ll see the Arrivederci debut later in the week at Monterey, and hopefully with some proper specs confirmed. We’ll start the countdown now until the next-last Zonda.
