Hows your day going? And BTW, do you listen to Phil Collins?
Great…and no :)
Hi Larry! When hand polishing, what’s the best way to prevent and/or remove residue from tight spaces, like the edges of parking sensors? (yes, my car needs a wash :p)
Hey, typically with car that have clear coat you cannot hand polish you will need a machine. Having said that, I think you might mean hand “wax”. If so, then you can stay away from those areas or use spray wax lubricant and a small brush to coax the junk out of those tight spots
After driving a standard 964 C4, I felt that it lost that special ‘unruly’ nature that the 2WD versions have. Does the addition of the 3.8 RS engine (and the rest of the upgrades on yours) bring back some more of that fun?
Great question. Yes. The “typical response” is that C4’s understeer etc etc…and to some extent thats true, but if you build the car with the understanding that its going to push in corners you can pull most of that out with the way you set it up. So for me I run full stiff rear suspension to ENCOURAGE oversteer which will equal out the natural understeer it would have. Plus, pulling out of corners is AMAZING in a C4 because you get on the gas far earlier than most. Its a fun choice for the track. Corner entry is good but not great. If you work the suspension it can be exciting
Im in CT, would you ever detail a car for me?
Sure if I have the space/time etc etc…call my office number off of the website and lets chat
Hi Larry! So good to have you on here!
What is the most common thing people are doing wrong when it comes to car cleaning?
They over touch. Meaning they want to love their paint, but in reality they themselves are causing the scratches. So when anything ANYTHING touches the paint 3 things must happen: 1) either the paint must be 100% clean 2) the tool, pad, towel must be 100% clean 3) the technique pressure and lubrication must all be thought about beforehand
What is the best way to protect wheel arches from rusting?
What’s happening? Can I use cutting compound by hand instead of using a machine ?
On clear coat, no you cant compound by hand
Do you reckon you could sort my colleague’s rust problem?
Maybe he can do a 2 cars for the price of one and fix the BMW too…
No this is a body shop situation
How did you get into detailing? Your videos are really awesome btw!
Thx bud. I just felt that it was something I could do and NOT look at the clock constantly. Its somewhat peaceful (as weird as that sounds)
How does one get good at detailing.
Like anything else….making lots of mistakes and figuring out what went wrong. Then doing it again
