Today's Community Question: What's the worst trouble your car’s ever landed you in?

Cars have the ability to bring us together, expand our horizons and provide us with unforgettable experiences. But they can also land us in all kinds of trouble. So this week, we want to know: what’s the worst situation you’ve found yourself in thanks to your car?

Perhaps you’ve broken down in the middle of nowhere or, like me, you’ve seen your life flash before your eyes during a monumental crash (see above).

Let us know - this is going to be fun!

Well. The worse trouble is that time i showed off in my Lincoln Mk8 winter ride. I paid 400 for the thing so i could have some fun while not trashing my fusion. Well. Ended up doing a few powerslides on some city streets. Black Suv behind me happened to be an officer. Thank god he was cool about it or i wouldve been in some major trouble. Still got chewed out.

Once taught a girl how to drive stick on some back roads and she got stuck on the gas.. having never driven a car before.. and went into a bog full of mud and twigs. The tow guy took forever and a child resulted. What is life?

There is 3 equally bad situations.

My employer had an Audi A6 which at the time was just over a year old. He needed that car in to other city, and I was given the job to drive it there. While driving just couple fingers on the wheel, Sunny day and dry good condition road, what could possibly go wrong?
For some odd reason the TCS suddenly thought that the car was sliding, locked left front wheel which yanked the wheel out of my hands, steering went to left lock instantly, I didn’t have any time to react, and I found myself rolling over twice before hitting a bridge support. Somehow I walked away from that wreck.

I was working on translporting company as a van driver, And my designated car was was mid 00’s Mercedes Sprinter van. I was merging on to highway on rainy night, Gladly there wasn’t almost any traffic. the ramp to the said highway has somewhat sharrp turn just before merging, And I assume that there had been spilled some oil on to the ramp. Anyhow, The van is known for “over protective TCS, and when I started skidding I barely did anything, just a little conuntersteer, and the TCS will take care of it, Right? Wrong. Soon I found myself going on full lock countersteer trying to hold it and it was finally starting to straighten out, when finally the TCS kicked in, Unfortunately, due to the van’s long wheelbase, and the high angle I was sliding it made the situation worse and I ended up spinning and stopped on the middle of the highway sideways.
Gladly there was no traffic at the moment.

I was driving on highway with my Mazda 323 GTI -88 which had it’s annual road saftey inspection scheduled in couple weeks time. I was going around 140km/h and just passed a semi truck when suddenly one of the rear control arms snapped. Well it had lasted for 18 years so it had rusted in too bad condition.I somehow managed to keep it under contorol and managed to stop on the shoulder relatively safely.

I think the better question is, what’s the worst trouble my car has gotten me out of?

Was in my uncle’s nekaf ex military jeep, was on a private road going about 10km/h had some pretty tight turns and I managed to hit the only mailbox within a 8 kilometer radius. Luckily I the mailbox had nothing and I hit an existing dent in the car resulting in some bondo falling out. Took off all the bondo, hammered it out and gave it a lick of paint. Fixed in 15 minutes.

Yesterday, my friends and I went to an empty (except snow & ice) parking lot. You can guess where that’s going.

But, well, Mazda 3s are pretty slow on ice. So, I caught up to my friend and joined in behind him for some tandem drifting. I then passed him…

I guess that made him a little nervous. Well, he got out and yelled at me for like 5 minutes.

Trouble, you say?
