Today's Community Question: Which car stereotypes are the most unwarranted?
The automotive community is a supportive network of car guys/girls who all share the same passion for four wheels. But that doesn’t stop us disagreeing from time to time, with many of these disagreements stemming from common stereotypes.
The automotive community is a supportive network of car guys/girls who all share the same passion for four wheels. But that doesn’t stop us disagreeing from time to time, with many of these disagreements stemming from common stereotypes. I mean, how many times have you heard that ‘MX-5s are for hairdressers’ or that ‘all Hondas are ricers’?
Granted these quips can be funny, and they’re usually made in good jest (we’ve done it plenty), but we want to know which stereotypes CTzens think are unfair and undeserved? Let us know in the comments below!

People who prefer exotics over JDM need to grow up
According to stereotypes, if own a Saab or have any interest in the brand at all you are a middle aged architect that wears turtle neck jumpers.
The 2.3Ts that are in Saabs are maaad
I’m a Saab owner and I didn’t know this. hahahaha
The MX5 is not a hairdresses car… no hairdresser would want a convertable, messes up the hair.
True
BMW/Merc/Audi drivers being dicks. I’ve never seen a Bimmer not use indicators, I’ve never had an Audi tailgate, and most Mercedes owners that I’ve met are cool guys/gals.
then you were never in germany :D especially on the autobahn :D
I agree with pedro.
The new one I’ve noticed:
“Rotary owners are naive idiots and lairs”
We are not. The cars are fun to drive, they are reasonably reliable, engine rebuilds are not the end of the world, and the gas mileage is not much worse than an equivalent V6.
BMW drivers don’t use turn signals
bmw and the blinkers ;)
“V6 mustangs and camaros are girl cars”
rotaries break.. only if you cant take care of it properly
