The Toyota GR86 took on the moose test and a slalom course to see how sporty it actually is. As tested, the example was fitted with the optional Touring Package with sports brake pads and 18-inch Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres. It had the standard 2.4-litre engine paired with a six-speed manual transmission. On KM77.com's slalom leaderboard the GR86 ranked joint 5th with the Mercedes-Benz C300 and Renault Megane E-Tech at 24.2 seconds. The Porsche Taycan GTS held first place at 21.5 seconds.

After the slalom tests the driver explained the steering was very precise but when he was turning around, stability control intervened and slowed him down. In a run without traction control on, the car span out and ended up facing the wrong way. The first moose test was a little more successful as the car stayed facing the right direction but knocked down three cones in the process.

Some gentler steering inputs meant the driver was able to minimise oversteer and got through the test at 46.6mph (75km/h) with more control. This was described as a normal speed for a car like this and to get the best out of it, the driver says it requires precision to stop the GR86 from moving too abruptly. Whilst he praises the front-end handling, the tests showed how easy it was to lose the rear end which isn't necessarily a bad thing if you're going for an AE86 vibe instead.
