Want Your Fiat To Sound Like A Ferrari? Vroom's Hilarious App Is Coming

Hate the way your car sounds? There's an app for that...

For the past few days, CT’s entire office-bound staff have been rolling around on desks in fits of laughter. You see, we’ve been sent a new app to play with.

It’s called Vroom, and according to its maker RJDJ, it’s “perfect for everyone who has a Fiat but wants a Ferrari”. Hmmmmnnn. Dodgy PR speak aside, Vroom is, in all honesty, a pretty good laugh.

Using your device’s built-in accelerometer and GPS, the app generates a new soundtrack for your car based on how you’re driving. It knows when you hit a bump, round a left- or right-hander, accelerate hard or slam on the anchors.

There are a few different soundtracks to choose from, too - from muscle cars to actual horses via a Russian tank - so it’ll be a fair few journeys before you, or your kids, grow bored.

Having said that, it is fairly sensitive. We were able to thoroughly test it out without so much as leaving our desks...

Vroom lands in the UK on Thursday, so stay tuned as we'll be releasing some free promo codes for lucky Car Throttle readers!
