Watch And Listen To The Range Rover Velar SVR As It Shouts Its Way Around The 'Ring
JLR is already cooking up a hot version of the Velar SUV, and it sounds ridiculously angry
Jaguar Land Rover has wasted no time in building a hot version of the Range Rover Velar. The standard car hasn’t been launched yet, but a Velar SVR (yep, we realise the rhyming is unfortunate) has already been spotted undergoing testing at the Nurburgring.
Power is most likely coming from JLR’s tried and tested 5.0-litre supercharged V8. Expect a 542bhp output, and - given the weight advantage over the Range Rover Sport SVR - a 0-62mph time in the low 4s.
Despite some inevitable, tyre squeal-inducing understeer seen in the testing footage, it looks pretty handy in the corners for a big, high-riding SUV. We can’t wait to have a go…

I wonder if this’ll be faster than the RR Sport SVR, it must be lighter
It may very well be, or atleast on par with the sport
Hearing the Velar SVR’s exhaust note make me feel like this:
But no XFR? Cool
Well done, JLR, but don’t count this as an excuse to not make the XE SVR and XF SVR.
Well, we do have the XE Project 8 coming. Although it is most certainly going to be in limited numbers. It certainly represents what could be a ‘XE SVR’.
I never thought a boat could sound so nice.
…
Annoys me how JLR waste no time in building a pointless supercharged V8 powered small Range Rover, but don’t give any hint of a Jaguar XE and XF SVR 🙄
Now footballers can be heard and seen in their brand new RR Velar SVR wrapped chrome gold
I was expecting a superCharged v6 tbh, but that v8 though. Omnomnom
In Spain at the mo be back in London Town Saturday but what car I just see
Wts your thoughts on this beautiful beast in Spain
