Watch This Guy Lose His Mind As His Nearly New Mercedes Becomes A Fireball

Gabriel Lopes bought himself a 2015 Mercedes-Benz C300 with 13,000 miles on the clock - just one week later it became a fireball. He's shared the video of the moment it all happened, and while it's easy to laugh at his reaction, you can't help but feel sorry for him!

Honestly I don’t find it funny. I would probably have the same reaction as him.

There’s something called a “Bathtub Curve” which summarizes the failure rate of mass produced electromechanical things. Basically it looks like: \__/ which is a bathtub kind of shape. Things which were not properly assembled or have faulty parts are likely to fail very early on (left side of the bath tub) - but things that were properly assembled and have good parts will last and have a low failure rate (the bottom part of the bath tub) until they wear out and (right side of the bath tub).
So, if you buy a car with a faulty part it is much more likely to burst into flames shortly after you get it off the lot. If it doesn’t burst into flames shortly after getting it, it’s likely to last for years and years before it breaks down.

My grandpa built a 33 Ford Coupe. I was in his daily car with my sister and my grandma and were on our way to my uncles for a swim. When we saw 3 fire trucks in a parking lot. That day my grandpas buddy was bringin the coupe to get painted, so we drove up and he realised it was his buddy standing by the fire-fighters and his car burnt in the parking lot. I was like 5 or 6 so i was pretty upset. Then I heard him say…. “Welp, back to square one.” lol…. For anyone wondering he did rebuild it, and won many many awards for it, but then got bored of the car shows. Sold his 33 Ford Coupe and 31 roadster and is now building a 55 GMC. IDK why I shared this story but i figured someone would read all this lol.
