The first thing I would do is get the fire extinguisher from the trunk and give it to someone who would be willing to help me while I disconnect the battery. Most of the times the engine bay catches on fire once you open the bonnet.

Most batteries in newer luxury cars are in the trunk now

I’m reading comments that it’s no big deal, insurance will cover it etc.
I can’t speak for the other countries insurance systems but where I live the ordinary insurance that you have doesn’t cover that kind of accident. It covers the expenses that you made with your car and thats it. You can buy casco insurance that covers theese kind of stuff but it is not cheap so only few people buy it.

In my country most of the new cars up to 3, 4 years old have casco. If you have enough money to buy new car form dealer, you should have propper insurance just to be sure.

That’s what happens when you’re rich, dumb and have no clue how to use the fire extinguisher.

Tough luck, at least nobody was hurt, I’m sure warranty has some thing to say about this. It is only a C300, how hard would you beat it to make it blow up stock?
