Watch The Toyota Supra And BMW Z5 Cousins Hit The 'Ring
The new Supra and its BMW-developed cousin have both been seen undergoing testing at the Nurburgring
Did last week’s brief testing video not give you a good enough idea of what the new Supra is like? Worry not, as the inevitable Nurburgring test footage has emerged, and as a bonus, its co-developed BMW Z5 has been lapping the Norschleife too.
Is it just us, or are they a tad quiet? It’s not always easy to tell from footage like this, but we can only hope the cars - almost certainly running six-cylinder hybrid powertrains - are subject to a little fiddling in the exhaust department before reaching production.

Cant wait to see what the supra looks like and how different/similar it will look to the older supra’s. It’s been too long.
Those body lines look promising! Especially that rear end mmmm
The supra looks nothing like the concept
that’s cuz it’s camouflaged
I have a feeling its going to look like a bigger gt 86/ fr-s
Thank god the bmw made it!
Z5 looks like an AMG something
The perfect engine for these two would be a Twin Turbo High Revving Inline Six.
Something like a fusion between the S54 and the 2JZ.
Sadly, we’ll probably get an S55 Hybrid.
Exactly
Not necessarily a twin-turbo, it doesn’t need a lot of power, high-revving and good sounding engine would be better
Probably it will be N55 hybrid.
I have a source in Toyota that has confirmed it to be a 6 cylinder SINGLE turbo engine.
So could be V6 or I6 who knows
Probably the most heavily disguised test mules. Credit to them - It will look like the FT-1 concept I hope
Im waiting for that time a company will say “we didnt test it on the Nurburgring because we don’t care about lap times
they test it because you have very different driving scenarios like straights, wide and tight turns, and the road is more of a regular road whic is better for testing than a perfect surface on some race tracks. i see it as a real world road for hard testing.
Volvo just said that a few weeks ago. But when you want a perdormance car, this is the way to go.
will the new supra have inline 6 ?
V8
Does anybody know if it’ll be rear wheel drive? I really hope it is
FWD BMW? FWD Supra? U mad bro?
