Introduction

Old or new. Jdm, American or Euro. Wagons have always been my thing. You probably may know that judging by all the photos of wagons I share on Car Throttle… Well today I thought I would explain to you why wagons are superior and you should totally love them, or at least I will try.

Practicality

Wagons are practical, you can’t deny it. Thanks to that you can get places quick… with a lot of stuff in the car. You can take your family skiing in the Alps and you will be smiling during the drive there. Plus if your cars exhaust is loud, you won’t hear your kids fighting in the back!

Ultimate Sleepers!

The car you see above is an Alpina B8 (E36) Touring, or as I like to call it: Alpina Bae. As some of you know mr. Alex Kersten is obsessed with BMW E36 Wagons. I on the other hand am obsessed with the Alpina. It has a power output of 333 horsepowers. In a bloody wagon! It also tops out at about 175 mph, which is pretty damn respectable and is super rare… In 2009 it was sold for 15000 Euros. If I had the money I would but this beast in a heartbeat.
Other than that we have a lovely car which goes by the name of Audi RS6. This one is a bit pricier with new ones costing up to 180k Euros. What you get for that price is really worth every penny. The car has 605hp, 4WD and 5 comfortable seats and it reaches 0-60 mph faster than Shmee getting rid of his McLaren 675LT. This is my ultimate modern car which I would love to own

Originality

Not many people in the cars scene give Wagons credit where it’s due. The cars can be used in really anyway you want them to. Daily Driver? Yes. Drag Car? Yes. Show Car? YES. RACE CAR? YES! The choices are unlimited, they really are the ultimate drivers car. And people really rarely do builds on them as they prefer the coupes and the sedans but I know that wagons are truly the best cars you can buy.

Conclusion + Bye Bye

In conclusion wagons are the best and you might think they aren’t, but you are wrong! They are the best cars ever (please don’t hate me for saying that). I will also post a gallery of some awesome wagons you might enjoy :)
I hope you enjoyed this little write-up. I hope to do some better and bigger blogposts in the upcoming week as this one was pretty hectic for me. Anyways today’s shoutout goes toooo: OlaZz. He is the owner of some pretty cool cars and he posts really damn good content! Be sure to check him out!

Thanks for tagging me and mentioning me in the post!! I too love wagons, especially sleepers.
There is a normal looking BMW 540 Touring driving around the town I live in, it looks stock apart from the rims but apparently it has more than 800nm of torque and 550+bhp :D
I saw the guy accelerating and the back tires just kept on spinning and he was going more than 100km/h

But the practicality of an estate car is completley removed when you lower it. It will naturally lower itself when you, as you say, take your family to the alps because of weight. If you don’t want to rip yoir new custom exhaust off whiltst driving then you should restrict the weight in your car. Therefore, all you can carry is yourself, you might aswell own a Peel P50

You can put bags onto a wagon and it will still be practical, and the point of wagons and estate cars is that you can fill them with alot of stuff and have space for passengers too.

That’s why the car I want the most in my family is a E91/92 330D. Somehow afordable, Autobahn rocket, great tuning potential (~300-350hp and 700-750Nm) and very good reliability.

Are there any wagons with a proper spoiler? Because, to be honest I would have some aerodynamics and maybe it’s just looking better?

It’s not a spoiler, it’s a tear-off edge. Aerodynamically speaking, it doesn’t get you any downforce (since you don’t need that on a wagon anyway), but it decreases the turbulences at the rear, effectively decreasing the drag. Looks better too.

Every time I check CarThrottle I wait for You! It’s amazing how the wagons are underrated… Audi RS6, Stagea with LS swap and R34 bodykit 😁These are so beautiful! Pozdrawiam!
