The last time we saw this technology at work, the question “why are we not funding this?” was posed. The answer is fairly simple: the system was too heavy and too expensive for commercial viability, although elements of the technology were used for the company’s ‘Bose Ride’ seat for truck drivers.

Crazy cool stuff. I mean the car jumps. IT JUMPS. why doesnt have it some really expensive cars like rolls royce? Or as an option for an extra 30k?
Rolls Royce’s already weighs the same as a house, plus some boats, so… Even heavier suspension wouldn’t be too good i think…
It is also uses a lot of power, so the car it was in would get terrible MPG.

The system is too heavy? Well so are cars nowdays. If they are heavy anyway, they could be heavy because of useful stuff like this, at least.

I don’t think the weight would be all too terrible. The price on the other hand could definitely be a problem. The only think I would worry about is if your electrical system ever failed you’d have no suspension. That could make things interesting.
