We’re already rather excited by the Zenos E10 - the latest low-volume, British built road-legal track car - but now there’s an even more powerful version. The standard E10 is already set to be rather swift, with a 197bhp Ford GDI engine powering just 650kg of car. In the newly revealed E10 S, though, a turbo is added into the mix, bumping the weight figure up to 700kg, but upping the power to 250bhp.

That’ll see the 0-60mph sprint covered in just 4.5 seconds, and give a top speed of 135mph.

Much of the car is as per the regular E10, which means a chassis comprising of a single aluminium extrusion acting as a backbone, and a tub made from a ‘recycled carbonfibre with a novel thermoplastic core.’

It sounds like it’s shaping up to be a rich man’s plaything, but the E10 S is - refreshingly - reasonably affordable. Whereas KTM’s (admittedly slightly more powerful) base X-Bow will set you back around £50,000, the Zenos is priced at £29,995, or £32,995 with a ‘Track Pack,’ which includes a six-speed gearbox, limited-slip differential, composite seats and four-point harnesses among other things. Should you not be fussed about the extra power, the standard E10 is £24,995.

The Norfolk based company - co-founded by former Caterham Cars CEO Ansar Ali and COO Mark Edwards - will start production of the E10 S in early 2015.
