Monday Music #41: "I Don't Wanna Waste My Time" by Joji and "Boredom" by Tyler the Creator

Hey everyone, back with some tracks to take the edge off of your Monday. First off, it’s a track I’ve been really feeling lately, by Joji, the man behind the internet personas Filthy Frank and Pink Guy. However, this is very much a different side of Joji, a side that’s more tender and emotional. The song title also really speaks to the feeling that I am just wasting my time, and wondering whether there is a better life out there for me somewhere. If we could get a full fledged studio album of this type of song I would be positively ecstatic, and so would his millions of fans.

New single off of Tyler’s album dropping this Friday (July 21st). It’s already leaked, but I’m waiting to it drops so I can download it on Spotify. Anyway, I know I have included the other single already, but I really relate to the message in this song about boredom and loneliness. This especially applies to my current state of life right now, where all my time is spent alone in my room, with family, or in the company of strangers. If you have ever felt lonely, I think this would probably be a good song for you. I also like how it ends by drowning out his friend’s voice with the exhaust note of his car as he pulls away. That’s something I could see myself doing if someone’s trying to hang out after ditching me.
