Monday Music #28: "Everybody" by Logic and "DNA" by Kendrick Lamar

Okay, I was gone for a minute but I’m back now. Sit the f*ck back down. No, but seriously, I’m back from my trip to Europe, where I saw France, Germany, and a bit of Austria. Of course, I flew with the always wonderful United Airlines (just kidding, they suck). Anyway, let’s get back to it with two great hip hop tracks which have dropped recently. Many people compare the sound of Logic and Kendrick Lamar, but they are both great artists in their own right and at the top of the rap game right now. Everybody already becomes one of my favorite songs of all time with how it tells people they should identify themselves and not just identify by their race. DNA also has a solid infectious beat and a message about his unique personality and struggle with being put into a box, this time by the media. Both put forward a message about how we need to look deeper into the soul of the artist, and decide to not judge them right away, which in Logic’s case is not calling him a white rapper just cause his skin is white, or Kendrick not calling him a gangster rapper promoting violence just because he talks about violence sometimes. Both are tracks to rock out to in the car or sit and analyze in the comfort of your home. It’s nice to see infectious music that has a good message and is well produced. Hope to get more content out soon, it will take multiple posts to talk about my trip, and I hope to possibly put together a vlog type video or two or more in a way kind of like the Regular Car Reviews journal videos but with video and pictures. Auf Wiedersehen Meine Freunde! #mondaymusic #unitedairlines #everybody

Logic is really good. Even though I’m more into old school, it boils my blood when someone says claims new rap is terrible. It has the same soul, it just sounds a little different.

Enjoy this old school track :)
