Not that cheap to run Back seats are cramped Compared to its rivals, it not that fun to drive.
Do you have some insides of what parts might break easier on them?
Depends which engine you get rear subframes can rust
I my opinion it is a great car, but the quality….I don’t know…
The electric system could cause trouble, at least it did on mine
Not as fast as competitors. Pretty terrible handling, especially the diesel and 3.2 which feels too nose heavy. Whilst the interior looks lovely, it falls apart very easily. The rust issues are annoying. Car doesn’t sound great when stock. Very expensive to maintain for a hatchback.
Unreliable end of
Having owned one for year, I thought it was great, it looked unbelievable compared to anything else similar, it really is art. So the cons then; I had the V6, which was smooth and made a good noise but no where near the levels of he Busso V6. It weighs too much, the 3.2 Q4 that I had weighed around 1750KG, so it cornered like a dog, fortunately the Q4 kept it somewhat in check. The steering rack went on mine, which is a common issue, usually costs around 1700 to be fixed new, I had a refurb fitted for 500. Tyres are expensive on the 18’s as the tyre size is fairly odd at 235/45/18. Fuel economy is horrific. Tax in the UK is the maximum amount. Parts are relatively scarce. Gearbox bearings are known to go, 5th and 6th is common, this is a very expensive fix, the M32 gearbox is well known for it, it’s the same ‘box as in the Astra VXR among others. The driving position is far to high, and the seats as supportive as a hillbilly with a gay son. The rear seats are more of a place to lean the front seats on to stop them rocking and creaking. BUT besides all of this, it is still one my favourite cars, because look at it!
The looks of it are just stunning, but I don’t know if it’s worth all the problems you might have with it to be fair… Thanks for all the infos man!
If its been well looked after there shouldnt be many issues.
Its an Alfa
Thing with Alfa’s is that well looked after ones aren’t that much less reliable than any other car in the same class. Problem is they will usually cost 3 times as much to fix the same problems. Gearbox bearings, electronics, steering racks, body panels, even the bloody glass windows and sunroof cost a bomb to repair.
A yearly repair/maintenance bill can easily cost more than you’d have paid for the car, so only buy one if you have an equal amount of cash to spend fixing the thing.
