Volkswagen Polo Harlequin
#Blogpost
The Polo Harlequin was a special edition VW Polo produced from 1995 until 1998.
The car is powered by the same 1.6L engine as the normal Polo, the only difference were the peculiar colours.
Volkswagen originally build only 20 of them, just for fun. But the car was received so well by the public that they decided to build more of them. The plan was to build 1.000 of them, but they ended up building 3.400 of them.
The original Harliquins have become nearly impossible to find nowadays, because only 20 of them have been build and not all of them were sold. They weren’t the same as the later production version, the main differences were slightly different colours, different lights and bumpers.
The Harlequins weren’t produced this way, Volkswagen build normal cars in the colours Ginster-Gelbe, Chagall-Blaue, Pistazie-Grüne and Flash-Rote. After this they manually switched the panels and added a Harlequin badge.
That’s all for now.
Have a wonderful day :D

Wait they made 3400 of these sodding ugly things? Geez…
Yup, they also made a Golf Harlequin
I’ve seen a Beetle with the same kind of design last summer, I have a picture of it somewhere

No it’s not, I know that’s a disease. I’m not stupid
I think you should also add why the concept of a multicolored car was developed (I seem to remember they brought it to a salon to display all the colors available for golf and polo, there’s an ad that explains it)
I couldn’t find any reasons on why they did it
to me it looks cool and different. I wouldn’t mind owning one
Same. I really like one.
You can have one in pretty good condition for like €2000. Albeit you can find one
Commonly known as the junkyard special
