HOW TO DRY YOUR CAR PROPERLY: AMMO Hydrate

AMMO Hydrate is one of my favorite products because it is designed to correct a major problem I was having on extremely rare painted surfaces. I discovered that improperly DRYING your car caused just as many scratches, as improperly washing your car. So I needed to figure out a better (ie…safer) way to remove water from the surface of delicate paint because traditional methods (squeegee, water blade, and old chamois) were effective at removing water, but introduced unnecessary scratches during use. (Using air is a great option, but most of my clients old cars to do allow safe usage, due to the paints extreme sensitivity) I solved my issue by creating a product that adds lubrication between the drying device and the surface of your paint….But this discovery only got me half the way there. I need to re-think the drying device as well. I wanted to a tool that not only picked up water,, but would pick up any “remaining dirt” left on the paint after a wash. My first choice was a traditional microfiber towel (at +/- 300 gsm). However, everyone knows, that dry microfiber towels don’t pick up water naturally. It’s somewhat difficult to soak up standing water effectively. So I hit a road block….then I thought about getting the MF towel wet or “damp”…and it worked perfectly! (why?, I’m not sure…but it does. When a MF towel is “damp” it seems to remove water from the surface of paint much more effectively)

Now I have a soft and safe device to remove water (and “left over” dirt) from the surface of your paint, with the help of a hydrophobic lubricant that adds depth and shine to the surface you are drying. (This took forever to figure out, but was totally worth it. Hydrate is a game changer and the product I am most proud of because no one has ever thought of drying your car as a major part of paint care or “preventative” maintenance.
