Just finished watching Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2, and I spotted a Ford Mustang 2 King Cobra in the beginning of the movie
An actual photo of the car from the movie, from the Hollywood red carpet premiere. Would have been a 1978 with T tops. In the same colours as Peter Quill / Star - Lord’s spaceship, the Milano.

2017 movie car

Made me wonder if they even have tazers.
This was my only bad part of the movie, it suits, but its still one of the ugliest cars.

It was a great looking car but all show and no go. The V8 was detuned down to 139 gross hp, so it was putting maybe 95 hp to the rear wheels. It was barely capable of doing the quarter in under 20 seconds. The gas-war and anti-smog days of 1973-74 were very depressing to us go-fast fans who are old enough to remember.
Quarter mile was in the seventeen second range. Might sound bad now, but that was pretty good for the late seventies.
If somebody was to try to make a decent horsepower from those cars, what limits it? What would you have to do? I imagine intake and exhaust first to let it breath but what else
Of all Mustangs they could have chosen and they chose this? Not only is it a II but it’s also a gaudy-ass King Cobra AND a T-top?GG

To each his own. I like the Mustang 2, especially the Cobra and King Cobra. Plus, t tops complete older muscle cars.
