I don’t understand the whole turbo lag pheomenon. I drive a turboed car, a 2.0TFSI jetta, and the lag is minimal to the point there’s no way it would ruin the experience. I’m assuming it’s due to the fact that my turbo is “glued” to my engine block, and I’m running a 200 cell cat, but is turbo lag really that bad on some other cars that it catches you by surprise? I mean this isn’t group B.

There are different kind of turbos. Probably, yours is not really big. Bigger turbos tend to have bigger turbo lag due to taking more time to spin. E.g. A Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart has less turbolag than an evo, simply because it has a smaller turbo.

87 octane ? The lowest we can get in the uk mainstream garages is 95. Shell do nitro v power plus at 98 and tesco do premium 99. Don’t think I’ve ever seen lower than 95
