Separating The Facts And Opinions With Cars

There are some things when it comes to cars that are scientific fact while other things are just a matter of opinion. Here is how all of that works out…

Facts

One thing that’s really great about cars is that the way you can make your Miata faster is also the same way you can make your Mustang faster. More air and fuel in the engine means more power, whether that’s through higher flowing cylinder heads, nitrous oxide or installing a stroker crankshaft. An aftermarket spoiler means more downforce which translates to higher cornering speeds and better stability on the straights.

Facts can also be not so fun. A handful of cars have a proven track record for unreliability, sometimes it’s certain engines or transmissions. No matter how hard you try, a stock AE86 will not beat an R32 GT-R around the Nurburgring.

Opinions

This part of cars is often what divides gearheads. Opinions are like buttholes, everyone has one and they all stink. While your car may be perfect for you, it may not be perfect for someone else for a myriad of reasons. If two cars are nearly identical in objective measurements like track speed, fuel economy and trunk space, then what often ends up distinguishing one car over the other is the subjective.

In conclusion, we can all agree on the facts of the car world like sticky tires mean better lap times but remember that beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.

I’d just like to point out that that isn’t a fact/necessarily true. What if the 86 driver is godlike, and the R32 GT-R driver is a moron to the nth degree?

I agree with you. There are a whole lot of factors that mess with the final result, one of them has to be the driver’s expertise.

i respect your opinion but my opinion is different then your opinion meaning that my opinion is the best opinion. you can’t say anything about my opinion or try to change my opinion now cause disagreeing to my opinion means you disrespect my rights as a human to have different opinions. that’s just my opinion. (you have now read every internet argument ever and the main reason why i try to avoid them)
