Daily driving a diesel truck?

So I’ve got my race car but I am in need of a 4x4 for the winter. I know a gas truck would be much cheaper and do the same for me but I’ve always loved diesel’s. I still may end up with a gas truck but I was wondering what to expect with a diesel daily driver?
