4 Reasons Why I Still Love Playing Live For Speed

Everyone is talking about NFS 2015, Assetto Corsa, Project Cars, Forza 6 etc. and I’m still playing LFS! Why? Well, here are 4 reasons why I still love this game!

The community

When I played LFS for the first time, I was struggling to find out how the game works. I didn’t know how to setup a car, how to drive properly, I didn’t even know how to start the engine. xD Thanks to some awesome people I learned the basics and they even taught me how to drift (I’m not a pro but ..K). The community is very friendly and they always help new players by giving them sets, teaching them how to drift etc. You can’t find friendly players in every racing game.

The mods you can install.

In Live For Speed, you can literally mod EVERYTHING! You can add window stickers, you can change rims, steering wheel, interior, seats, you can even mod the driver’s suit and helmet! This way you will give a personal touch to your car. But be careful, some mods don’t work online!

The difficulty.

LFS is freaking hard! You need days of training to become a decent driver. You’ll have to find the perfect setup for your car and practice again and again in order to become good. That’s a reason why I love it. In many racing games, you just spend 10 minutes to get used to the game and then you are a drift king who can do wheelies and backflips. AW HELL NAW!

The physics

For such an old game the physics are so realistic. For example, you can’t take a corner with 160km/h without crashing into something. You can warm up your tires in order to slide more etc. I’ve tried many other games but I think it has the best physics.

Alright those were 4 reasons why I still play LFS. I’ll be online for some time so come and drift with me! Server: Tofu Race Drift Server. (LFS Demo)

I’m more of a racing guy, mostly I spend time racing in FBM at Animals or MRc server. This game takes a lot of time and you need to commit to it. When I first started in FBM, I always get kicked out because of bad lap time and causing a lot of stupid mistakes. But know from the guy who only do a lap around Blackwood in the 1:18s, now in the 1:13s in 4 months. I’m a regular visitor at Animals and MRc FBM server, so if you want to join me in FBM, my IGN is (WMNR) AttackMan.

Yeah I’m in the same boat as most of you…been playing since 2003 I think. Best physics of any racer out there, hands down. Still pop in from time to time.

I quit playing it, but I kinda quit playing anything really. LFS kinda learned me to drive and park a car. I practiced driver’s ed situations with my own coned courses. I’m 27 now, got my license when I was 18. So started playing about 10 years ago. Only S1 was available. Bought S2. What happened to S3? Last time I checked it seemed to not go much further than when I left it.

This is one of the closet races I’ve ever had. On LAN, not on a forum. With AI.
