4 Reasons Why I Still Love Playing Live For Speed

Everyone is talking about NFS 2015, Assetto Corsa, Project Cars, Forza 6 etc. and I’m still playing LFS! Why? Well, here are 4 reasons why I still love this game!

The community

When I played LFS for the first time, I was struggling to find out how the game works. I didn’t know how to setup a car, how to drive properly, I didn’t even know how to start the engine. xD Thanks to some awesome people I learned the basics and they even taught me how to drift (I’m not a pro but ..K). The community is very friendly and they always help new players by giving them sets, teaching them how to drift etc. You can’t find friendly players in every racing game.

The mods you can install.

In Live For Speed, you can literally mod EVERYTHING! You can add window stickers, you can change rims, steering wheel, interior, seats, you can even mod the driver’s suit and helmet! This way you will give a personal touch to your car. But be careful, some mods don’t work online!

The difficulty.

LFS is freaking hard! You need days of training to become a decent driver. You’ll have to find the perfect setup for your car and practice again and again in order to become good. That’s a reason why I love it. In many racing games, you just spend 10 minutes to get used to the game and then you are a drift king who can do wheelies and backflips. AW HELL NAW!

The physics

For such an old game the physics are so realistic. For example, you can’t take a corner with 160km/h without crashing into something. You can warm up your tires in order to slide more etc. I’ve tried many other games but I think it has the best physics.

Alright those were 4 reasons why I still play LFS. I’ll be online for some time so come and drift with me! Server: Tofu Race Drift Server. (LFS Demo)

Nice article! I run an ancient PC, so I’m always looking for good old games. But do you use a wheel with this game? Thanks!!

i have been an a fan of LFS since 2001! thats 15 years of not finding anything that was better regarding physics. but i was bored to hell by it for the past 5 years. lack of new content and notable development. yes you can mod the cars if you are deeply into game hacking, but they wont show the modifications online, except for the car skin. you can hack parameters of the cars by external programs whil lfs running, to make cars more fun, but youre restircted to use tweaked servers then. physics was good, but i always felt that some things are odd, regarding tyres. i was eagerly searching to find something that can replace the dead lfs for years, until this xmas, when i bought myself assetto corsa.
it does what lfs did, better. true modding possible (not memhack). awesome user created content everywhere. and even better physics. the whole experience feels much more real.
didnt start up LFS since….
