5 Blues and Classic Rock songs that might make every petrolhead to feel identified
I love the sound of a proper exhaust note when driving in a nice sportscar. However as a big fan of blues and classic rock, I think that going for a long roadtrip without listening some good themes will not give an ideal experience as we would expect.
The following songs are a personal selection that I have been hearing since some time ago, and that have given me some great experiences when driving. Some of them because are part of my favourites songs or were made by my favourite artists, or some of them are great songs that make me feel identified with an specific ocassion of my “car-based” life.
I hope you enjoy this playlist as well as I do.
This song, as most of you know, was chosen by Top gear the most petrolhead song ever. After all it’s lyrics make a lot of references for this passion that we all share.
It was on the Top gear’s “most petrolhead song” ranking with the previous song mentioned. Even if this one doesn’t mentions things about cars, the song motivates us to keep going. It inspires! On the other hand, I include this one here as Queen is my favourite music band. If you want to hear another song of them that is connected to our passion, you can hear I’m in love with my car.
It’s title says it all! Who doesn’t feel like that when driving through the highway? Those lyrics just push the ego to the limit.
A song named after a car brand. What can be more petrolhead than that? And these guys are true petrolheads. Most of their videos (except this one… Sorry) show some amazing cars, including a 1934 Ford Coupe owned by Billy Gibbons. He called his car the “Eliminator”, the same name used on one of their albums released on 1983.
This song makes me feel proud of being ‘Murican even if I’m not. And that Charger from Dukes of Hazzard is an Icon. And watching that video makes me want to buy a classic muscle car and disappear from my city!
Is there any other song you would put on this list? Please share it!
