Honestly, both sounds great. the UEL sounds slightly better, but I would be happy with both.

Conclusion..there isn’t one. I think the unequal length headers sounds better outside the car but the equal length headers sound better outside the car.

I like the startup of the equal length headers much more, but the revs of the unequal headers MAY have given me a bit of a boner…..

Unequal all day ere day! The boxer burble is huge part of the appeal of Subarus for me. Also, as much as I refuse to Honda bash, a fart can on a civic is one of the only exhaust notes I can think of that genuinely make me cringe.And that’s all I have to say about thaaat..

I love the unequal length header sound but went with equal length on my classic sti. Pretty easy decision when you have changed literally every nut, hose, fitting on the car as well as the big stuff. The little gain from the equal headers is worth it when your building a track car and want 100% from the set up.
