What's The Best Suspension - Soft or Stiff?

I drive passat with sport susp. on a daily basis and sometimes on a weekend I take my cousins Cooper S JCW. Damn, first 50 miles is okay but you cant have this car as a daily. Its to stiff.
When I come back in passat after mini it feels soft like maybach.

Dont know what you’ll make of this but ive found sorted track and race cars ive driven have been faily compliant in terms of stiffness was told by someone i used to work with who used to build porsche race cars over in England and built a couple of lotus’s for the bathurst 12hr said its because its easier on the driver and better over ripple strips n slight bumps in the road

This explains why Lotus suspension revisions almost always use softer springs and stiffer shocks than the standard version of the vehicle.

In conclusion, softer springs is better over bumps and edges while stiffer springs is better on a flat surface.
