Which car makes you most sad because you'll probably never be able to afford it?

There comes a time in life (for me it’s 3-4 times a day) where you have an awful moment of realisation, that ‘the dream car’ is probably only ever going to be nothing more than a dream.

I love nothing more than a bit of ‘internet window shopping’ scrolling through the classified advert websites looking at cars I’d love to one day own. Every so often I stumble across something that makes me melt inside, something that triggers a desire of want so strong, that it’s almost uncomfortable.

This feeling is then usually followed up with a horrible sinking empty feeling. It’s that feeling backed up by the little voice in my head that says; "Realistically John, unless you win the lottery this isn’t ever going to happen, so tough luck, mate!" It’s horrible, it’s saddening and yet every day I put myself through the same dilemma.

For me, the 1995 Porsche 911 993 RS is exactly that. The one I’ve included as a screenshot above is a car that triggered that exact same horrible feeling just now.

I mean will you just look at it. It’s perfect, the colour is perfect, the wheels are perfect, the interior is perfect too, but yet it’s £225,000. Yep, two hundred and twenty-five thousand pounds. That’s more than $346,000(USD) or € 313,000(euros) a figure of money I’ll almost definitely never have to spend on a car. So I’m curious to know, which car does this for you?…

What car are you most struggling to come to terms with the fact you’ll probably never ever be able to afford?

Just in case you would like to see a little more of the car, it can be found by clicking here.

I’d go for the Alfa RZ on the same website. As a younger person, I certainly can’t afford it at £65000, but what makes it worse is the fact that in the several years that it’ll be when I might possibly have that money, due to appreciation and inflation it will be more than double the price it is now.

This situation is probably even more painful: you can’t afford it yet, maybe in the future you could but the price just keeps running away from you…
E30 M3, Jaguar E Type, 997 GT3…

If I were a surgeon know I could easily buy a Lamborghini Diablo but I don’t know wether I’ll be able to buy a Lamborghini Diablo after 13 years, that’s when I actually become a surgeon. The fact that you don’t know what will happen in the future is just scary. 😞

I know that feel, bro. I can only dream that one day i’ll have worked hard enough to afford even the crappiest E30 M3. Prices have already skyrocketed so that’s not gonna happen anytime soon.

That’s why I have 3 favorite cars:
-Honda Civic EP3 Type R - I love it, and it isn’t very very expensive (between 10000 and 15000€, at least here)
-Honda NSX - No words needed ;) It’s a bit expensive, maybe if I’m rich one day…
-Lexus LFA - :’( only in dreams

Nissan R390 - Not only would it be ridiculously expensive to buy, but there are only 2 in existence. Nissan owns one of them and it’s highly unlikely the other will ever go up for sale. So even if I had the money I still wouldn’t be able to get it :(

I saw one in the flesh (driving around in the paddock) at the Donington festival this year. It was beautiful, and absolutely massive, so long, wide and low XD

The pagani zonda, for me it is the definition of a supercar, it definitely has the stupidly high price of one

I’ve always wanted to go up to the dealership and pick up a brand new evo. Looks like that won’t be happening

Mine’s BNR34 V-Spec N1. Combine the iconic R34 with a brand focused on ultimate engine response, and voilá, a car that, according to Tsuchiya, has the acceleration of a GT500 machine. I don’t even know if it is for sale, but even if it were, "though luck, mate".
