Which car makes you most sad because you'll probably never be able to afford it?

There comes a time in life (for me it’s 3-4 times a day) where you have an awful moment of realisation, that ‘the dream car’ is probably only ever going to be nothing more than a dream.

I love nothing more than a bit of ‘internet window shopping’ scrolling through the classified advert websites looking at cars I’d love to one day own. Every so often I stumble across something that makes me melt inside, something that triggers a desire of want so strong, that it’s almost uncomfortable.

This feeling is then usually followed up with a horrible sinking empty feeling. It’s that feeling backed up by the little voice in my head that says; "Realistically John, unless you win the lottery this isn’t ever going to happen, so tough luck, mate!" It’s horrible, it’s saddening and yet every day I put myself through the same dilemma.

For me, the 1995 Porsche 911 993 RS is exactly that. The one I’ve included as a screenshot above is a car that triggered that exact same horrible feeling just now.

I mean will you just look at it. It’s perfect, the colour is perfect, the wheels are perfect, the interior is perfect too, but yet it’s £225,000. Yep, two hundred and twenty-five thousand pounds. That’s more than $346,000(USD) or € 313,000(euros) a figure of money I’ll almost definitely never have to spend on a car. So I’m curious to know, which car does this for you?…

What car are you most struggling to come to terms with the fact you’ll probably never ever be able to afford?

Just in case you would like to see a little more of the car, it can be found by clicking here.

Mine will be the McLaren F1. Designed by Gordon Murray,it’s beautiful,it’s a masterpiece. First car to breach 240 MPH and is the fastest NA car in the world. Cost? Millions

The Pagani Zonda R. It is such a beautiful car and its been engineered brilliantly. But it is so rare and it has a massive 6l V12 and using that probably wont be legal by the time I am old enough… if I can afford one :’(

Lancia Stratos stradale or a Interceptor Falcon XB-GT, like the first film of Mad Max.

The M1. I saw one the other day for the cost of a very decent house…..I don’t know that I’ll ever have 4-500k for just one car, that I wouldn’t even drive all that much, for fear of robbing the world of one of the nicer cars that’s ever been made.

Any supercar/hypercar. Or american muscle car, since they’re almost as expensive as a new 5-series.

But, more especifically? The 918.

1963 Corvette split-window. It’s hard to find them for under 50,000 USD and I can’t ever seem to find them in an unrestored state for a project. Even them they’ll rarely be under 20,000.
