American Cars

1 of 4 ever made, this is definitely a head turner…..but that’s not necessarily a good thing given that it’s not the prettiest of the rare cars on the road. Perhaps it’s a good thing its numbers dwindle in the single digits. Looks aside, this is definitely a car you may never see again in the United States. Here is more on the car from an article on Autoblog.com. Article by Noah Joseph

The description from “Gran Turismo” After a year-long absence, the Corvette returned in 1984 with the C4 model. This model would see its performance rise as the years went on. In 1987, the Callaway Twin Turbo option was made available. Then in 1990, with the addition of option packages such as the ZR1 with its Lotus-tuned DOHC engine, the 90’s Vettes recovered everything that had made them so desirable in years past.

Tuning modern performance cars is an act fraught with danger and with the potential to end up with something much worse than when you started. Want a masterclass in how to go about it? Step right this way... The Audi TT is a deceptively brilliant car with a flexible range of engines and transmissions that mean it really can be all things to all men. Think about it, there are very few sports cars that can claim to be every bit as suited to hammering around the Nurburgring as they are pottering around town, and the TT manages both of these with ease.

Introduction Hello CTzens, how are you all doing today? I’m doing quite good myself, thanks for asking! I think we have all been in that situation where we have been invited to go to a cinema, but had to decline because F1 was on. Trust me when I say this: whenever you say that you are going to watch F1 or any other Motorsport for that instance your friends will be like: “F1? But that is boring! What’s fun in seeing 24 drivers go around the track for an hour and 30 minutes?”.

When I arrived in America and got settled I wanted a car. An American car, because that’s what you do when you move to a new country - you immerse yourself in its culture and try to understand what makes it tick. If you like cars then the most obvious aspect of American car culture is of course the muscle car, and as far as I’m concerned the Dodge Challenger is the only true muscle car in current production.

This may very well be my next beater car… With that said, let’s get going! The Hyundai Tiburon was sold in the U.S. in two generations, the cute 1st gen from 96-2000, and the sportier RX8-esque 2nd gen sold from 2003-2008. The first generation was available in three trim levels, with base, FX (“luxury”) and the sportier RD which wasn’t sold in the US though i’ve seen a few around. The base model was powered by a 130hp and 122 lb/ft 1.8l taken from the Elantra, good enough for a 9.0 second 0-60 and a top speed of 122mph.

Last weekend saw Olly Clark and Gobstopper II make yet another successful assault on Goodwood's famous hill Last year saw Roger Clark Motorsport (RCM) set the outright fastest time of the Goodwood Festival of Speed weekend, success the team built upon this year by once again topping the time sheets in their specially prepared Subaru Impreza Time Attack car, Olly Clark powering up the hill in a breathtaking 46.29 seconds.

I drive this car every once in a while, usually when my Volvo is having work done. It’s my stepbrother’s car and he doesn’t use it because he’s in Australia, where this car was actually built. Google will tell you the Diamanté weighs about 3,500lbs or so, but the markings on the car say otherwise: 4,430lbs. Almost 2 1/4 tons.

Introduction Hello People of the Internet! How are you all doing, during this beautiful summer day? Good, good. I’m doing fine myself, thanks for asking! Today I’m here to tell you about my newest automotive fascination which is the TVR Tuscan! This is the car that people use to describe the word: “Crazy”. I’ve never been even remotely interested in this car, until yesterday. You know what happened that made my interested in the Tuscan?

So we all know the Dual Clutch Transmissions shift lightning fast, but quickshifting with a manual transmission not only sounds more aggressive than an auto, but it also feels amazing. The g -force in between shifts in a manual is much more noticeable than in a automatic. Then there is powershifting, which is much more risky but sounds crazy when done correctly. Like the driver in the video explains, powershifting will only give you an advantage when shifting from 1st to 2nd, other than that quickshifting will be good enough.

Hi CT!!! So today we have after along time a #blogpost from me. The footie fever is on and being both a huge football fan and also a massive car nut, I’m going to tell you today about the mainly ‘commercial’ connection between the football and car world. Let’s get right into it

Growing up and learning to drive I’d always had to drive old ‘budget’ cars. These weren’t bad cars by any means (two Toyota Corolla’s and a Toyota Camry) but they weren’t cars I wanted to continue driving after I starting to earn my own income. So after a few years in a full time job I made my own ‘real’ first time car purchase in early 2015. I bought a 2008 60th Anniversary Holden Commodore SS-V.

McLaren has decided that their P1 is too good to discontinue, so yep, following the footsteps of the legendary F1 LM, here comes the McLaren P1 LM. First off, how rare will this car be? We can get an insight into this from the F1 LM’s price. ‘Cheap’ is all we can say about the price… Last year, an F1 LM sold at an auction for just $13.75 million. Not a big deal… Yes, we use sarcasm.

Before you guys say that this is the wrong section, I am referring to the OLD Top Gear, the one with Jeremy Clarkson, James May, and Richard Hammond. They have moved into The Grand Tour now, sadly, leaving the Stig. I know the good old Top Gear will fade away into nothingness in years, so I made this tribute blog post for the preservation of what would be one of the most famous car shows, and the greatest of all time.

Driving in a developing country isn’t that easy; improperly paved roads and potholes are almost everywhere, speed bumps aren’t within their standard dimensions, and thieves are always on the hunt for the slightest opening to steal whatever car they deem vulnerable for a robbery. Add the the record breaking hurricanes that plow through our country every year and logic will tell you that soft top convertibles are the idiot’s choice to use as a daily driver.

If you want to cruise through Los Santos in a vehicle that isn’t a chromed Veyron, I mean if you want a vehicle that is a bit different, that stands out from the crowd. A vehicle that people don’t know, a vehicle which is fast, good looking and that has multiple tuning option, then this isn’t the right place although you are probably looking for the Sultan RS. But anyway, let’s not get carried away. This post is about the best sleepers you can find on LS streets.

Le Mans is arguably the world’s greatest motor race. 24 hours of hard racing along a high-speed circuit made up partially of public roads, a test of endurance for both man and machine. Le Mans has produced many stories over the years. Ford taking exacting revenge on Ferrari in the 60s, the infamous Mercedes-Benz crash in 1955, Porsche’s last lap win over Toyota and so many more. These stories have become part of motor racing lore, a testament to the magic of mototsport and rightly so.

Made for just 2008 and 2009, the Buick Lacrosse Super was a wolf in sheep’s clothes. Power came from the 5.3 L LS4 small-block V8 engine featuring Active Fuel Management technology, which is routed to the front wheels, putting out 300 hp at 5600 rpm and 323 lb/ft at 4000 rpm. This powertrain was also found on the Grand Prix GXP, Impala SS, and Monte Carlo SS. The Super model was one of the fastest modern production Buick’s ever built, with a factory top speed of 150 mph (240 km/h), and 0–60 mph times of 5.7 seconds.

If you have never played Need for Speed: Most Wanted (2005), I urge you to play it. It is an amazing game with good graphics, great physics and an amazing story line with awesome cars and if you get the Black edition you get an E46 BMW M3. But increasing bounty is hard work because you have to get in chases and each chase gets progressively harder as cops increase, cop car health increases, and it just gets harder and harder per each Heat Level increase. And because of that, people have discovered away to rack up bounty easily and today I am going to bring it to Car Throttle.

I don’t really understand the hate…whenever I mention the 4cyl in conversation with guys at work, they simply brush it off as “not a real Mustang”…..really? That’s funny because….it sure does have the name of a “real” Mustang. It looks the same as a “real” Mustang(aside from a couple body tweaks). It also has half the cylinders but can be built to be faster than a 5.0. “DUH YOU IDIOT! ANYTHING CAN BE MODIFIED TO BE FASTER! KILL YOURSELF!!!” Beat yall to that bullsh!t. But really? Is it any less “Mustangy”? #opinion #FoxBody #4bangers #TunnelVision

Today I decided to pin these cars against each other. Not in performance figures because we all know which one wins that, but as a driver’s car. On the straight on the way to the back roads I was testing these cars in the Cayman was obviously faster. Instant power from the time the pedal was mashed to the floor until the 7000rpm redline. First gear goes up to 40mph and second to almost 70. The sensation of speed doesn’t even hit you until you’re already in at least third gear flat out.

Now I don’t know about you, but I have always heard mixed reviews when it comes to these experience days. The general consensus always seems to be that they are alright, and that’s about it. I received the day out as a present, it would have been rude not to attend. Booking the day out was simple, activate the code on the voucher you are given and then book a slot with any of the listed tracks available. I chose Everyman Racing at Pretswold Driving Centre in Leicestershire, they had the cars I wanted, and they were the closest too.

So you want to modify your e30? Here is a quick beginners guide I’ve decided to write to help some of the guys who are looking for some guidance on what to do to their e30. The mods I will be covering are usually commonly excepted amongst e30 enthusiasts and I will try to cover as many options as I can.
