It was perhaps somewhat inevitable that the MX-5 would find itself used as the key stone for countless kit cars throughout the world, after all, it’s chassis, engine, drivetrain and sheer abundance make it just too good a candidate to ignore! That the MX-5 should prove so suitable for this kind of conversion isn’t so surprising then, though of course that hasn’t stopped many voicing their distaste at the fact, and it’s also undeniably true that not all MX-5-based kit car projects end up doing Mazda’s iconic sports car justice.

Can a more capable, reprogrammed ECU make much of a difference to an otherwise standard car? We see if EcuTek’s ProECU and RaceROM software upgrades can transform the current Mazda MX-5. The issue

The Renaultsport Clio, the car that has been used as a benchmark in the hot hatch industry for almost 20 years. It all started in 1993 when the Renault Clio Williams was introduced. It put every face of hot hatch manufacturers sad, confused, and ashamed. As time flies by, other manufacturers have put their heads and started to bring the French some competition. In the mid-90s, cars such as the Civic Si and the MG ZR gave some heat to Renault.

The new Formula Drift has just kicked off with an amazing round at Long Beach and I attended my first Formula D event, Formula Drift at Long Beach this past Saturday and I had a great time. Although there was some rain during the competition there was still a lot of tire shredding. Since this was my first Formula D event I have comprised a list of things that I learned and things you should look out for if you do (and I encourage you to go!).

Here are a few of the problems to look out for on the Bora/Jetta. Feel free to add any that may have been missed. Bora Clutch issue If you feel that there is a problem with your clutch, the first place to inspect is the clutch pedal itself. In the middle of the pedal there will be a white patch with a rod connected to it, this rod is known to crack as the welds that attach it are not that strong. The rod will need to be welded back stronger to fix this issue. If the rod is totally broken the actual rod will need to be replaced.

Respected ECU tuning expert EcuTek has raised the industry standard yet again with the launch of its exceptionally complete software suite for Nissan’s highly tuneable 370Z. The new RaceROM Phase 2 for the 370Z features no less than TWO year’s worth of technical updates and enhancements over the original product, resulting in a package of additional functionality and control that eclipses many stand-alone ECU alternatives, but with the added bonus of all factory control elements remaining very much in place.

1st Gen This is where the Prelude all began, with the 1st gen prelude being made from 1978 to 1982. The exterior looks dated now and power output are well below modern standards, but the original Prelude’s are surprisingly good cars. Reviews at the time of its release stated that it handled just as well as its German competitors in BMW and Mercedes. This generation of Prelude came with either a five speed manual or a two speed semi automatic . The engine was a EL SOHC 8V 1602cc engine. A catalytic converter was added to the Prelude in the ‘80s.

This is the first ever Camaro to ever have the name of ZL1 associated with it. Camaro ZL1 was quite a car to behold back in 1969 too! The first-generation Chevrolet Camaros appeared in dealerships on September 29, 1966, for the 1967 model year on a brand-new rear-wheel drive GM F-body platform and would be available as a 2-door, 2+2 seat, coupe or convertible with a choice of six-cylinder and V8 powerplants. The first-gen Camaro would last up through the 1969 model year.

Hello dear CTzens ! I’m writing this article today to expose some problems about my favourite racing game franchise : Forza Motorsport. But first, let me give you a bit of background about me. I’ve been playing video games since I was 8 years old, and I’ve been growing my passions for cars and gaming in a way that marries both. My first ever video game was Need For Speed 4 : High Stakes but my love for racing simulation games was born when I first played Gran Turismo 2.

This article was in relation to the 1986 Pontiac Fiero “Porsche Eater”, which was redesigned with a Pontiac racing suspension, a brand new 2.9 aluminum block V6 with an intercooler mounted in the rear. The gentleman responsible for the built was named Tim Petersen, who said the project was a great one. They were able to test the limitations of the engine on the Fiero, and we’re able to make significant gains. Obviously, this didn’t go well with the authorities in GM’s upper level.

I’ve always been a petrolhead. Growing-up, I’d spend many a weekend with my grandfather, who was a retired mechanic and workshop foreman, with decades of experience under his belt. Naturally, I owned some great cars and being able to maintain them myself meant I could stretch more than most people would have the guts to.

The GLHS The GLHS was the fastest with 175 horsepower and 175 lb-ft. This wasn’t a tool for the track, it was a weapon of mass destruction. It had a modified Garrett Turbo I engine, a long runner tuned intake (2 pieces) manifold, and an intercooler. The engine had a compression ratio of 8.5:1, a maximum boost of 12 psi. Because of all this, it could do the 0-60 mph in an incredible 6.70 seconds and the quarter mile in 14.7 seconds at 94 mph. It also pulled .88 g on the skid pad.

The corrado was vw’s answer to a sports car back in 1989. However in 1993 vw introduced the corrado with it’s innovative VR6 motor which replaced the supercharged four cylinder motor found in previous models. To me vw failed in producing a sports car but they had bred a European muscle car and that’s a good thing.

The evil contraption on the top, wing and splitter, nearly killed NASCAR as a whole, and put the mentality that the racing needs change in the heads of high-ranking people in the organization. It was ugly, slow, too dependent on aerodynamics and it ruined the racing. So why would a high downforce monster like this be created? And why was it changed? Well it all starts with a dark day in 2001.

The least loved generation of the 911’s the 996’s have become one of the greatest performance bargains out there with the Turbo being the apex predator. With one of the greatest engines in Porsche production car history and AWD the right modifications can make one of these into a supercar killer for a fraction of the price.

You may have seen some insanely clean custom builds based on modern/classic muscle-cars or JDM cars, but Lowrider-guys take it to another level. Here´s why! Paintjobs Like it or not, Lowrider-paintjobs are more work than you would expect. Starting from sweet candy-chrome color up to insane handmade pinstriping and detail work on the coating, they get it done.

The Ford mustang is one of the most iconic cars in American History, the Mustang was (is) a low cost high performance car that has stuck around and stood the test of time. The Ford mustang is also one of the only two currently produced American high performance cars that hasn’t been canceled (The other being the Corvette) for any duration since it’s introduction back in the day.
