How much power would you people say a 2500KG car needs to be considered powerful?

If you can slam on the gas mid RPM during 2nd gear and spin 9inch wide tires, that’s powerful. If you can do it 3rd gear and up, you need a roll cage. 😊

I’ve got a Renault with 230-240bhp but it’s got a limited slip diff etc and can easily make more powerful cars look silly on a B road. It’s not just about power to weight it’s how it’s put on the road!

200hp In a car that weighs 1200kgs is powerfull, and 180hp in a 1000kg car is powerfull too, and 250hp in a 1400kg is powerfull

I’d have to agree with a number of others who have posted… I don’t think a powerful car is necessarily defined by the horsepower or torque it can put down. I think the more important number to consider is the power:weight ratio.

Is 400hp and 400 ft/lb too much? I think not.
